Drink driver arrested after driving past Bolton crash on phone
Aman was arrested after passing the scene of an accident on his mobile in the early hours of yesterday morning - in full view of the police.
Officers attended an incident in the early hours of August 25 where a driver had crashed in Trinity Street after being chased from Astley Bridge.
The driver of the car was detained by police and would subsequently fail a drugs test for cocaine, police said.
At the time of this incident, another man drove past in a white Citeroen while using their mobile phone.
The car was therefore stopped by officers who were present and would be arrested after providing a positive breath sample for alcohol, police say.
A GMP Traffic spokesman said: "Last night while officers were dealing with the RTC on Trinity Street Bolton, the driver of this car decided to drive past the scene on his mobile.
"Stopped by officer he would then provide a positive breath sample and be arrested. In custody he blew 52 (legal limit 35)."
